Ten Thousand Daffodils

A spectacular celebration of the rich literary and historical legacy of the Ullswater valley. A unique installation of 10,000 ceramic daffodils were ”planted” against the romantic backdrop of Lowther Castle and Gardens to raise funds for charity. A truly stunning sight to behold.

The brief

We were delighted to be involved with the Ten Thousand Daffodils project. From window stickers to ceramic stamps, we have created the graphic design work for this incredible installation.

We started with the branding. It needed to be something bold and modern, with an artistic twist. We used the glaze spatter to create the impression of Wordsworth’s ‘host of golden daffodils’ and contrasted this with a bold modern font.

The branding was carried through to the website, posters and marketing materials.

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for pulling out all the stops on getting everything together on the website. I’m sorry if we haven’t been efficient or helpful at times but we are there and it is just beautiful! Thank you so much.”

Helen Ratcliffe, Ten Thousand Daffodils

The project is still live, so do get yourself down to Lowther Castle and Gardens. It has been featured on the BBC, and has raised an incredible amount for the chosen charities already, but you can still contribute by buying a daffodil.
