C-Art: A Visual Feast

It’s that time of year again…

September is an odd month to get excited about (unless you’re sending the kids back to school) but September heralds the beginning of Cumbria’s biggest visual arts event with C-Art Open Studios.  A two week long programme of artist open studios, gallery open days, workshops, exhibitions and special events. C-Art celebrates the breadth of contemporary and traditional visual art, craft and design to be found in the Lake District and across Cumbria.  This year, C-Art runs from the 14th – 29th of September with 162 artists, designers and independent galleries swinging open their doors to the public.  It’s brilliant to be able to get into the artist’s workspace and speak to them directly about their motivations and inspirations, as well as being able to buy some fantastic art direct from the artists.

It’s all about you… We were originally approached by Eden Arts  in 2012 to implement their artists catalogue detailing the who, what, where and when of the studios event which was a resounding success.  C-Art has a vibrant and well-established brand identity, so we were able to simply mirror this personality to create something that was informative yet exciting.  We were delighted to be asked to produce the brochure again for this year’s trail and hope you can grab yourself a copy before the Open Studios event begins!  If you visit the C-Art website, you can order a copy or pick one up from various art hubs around the county free of charge.

How we helped… In order to allow visitors to understand opening hours, locations and have a physical showcase for the various artists work, we created the brochures in their iconic yellow to follow the C-Art guidelines and retain a professional quality from which to allow the artists work to jump off the page. From pointing maps, to creating icons, this is a large document with a big impact. Design services have included:
